[Event] UpBase MCN participates in the National E-commerce Week

With the aim of reaching approximately 1 billion views across the program's platforms, closing 3 million orders, reaching 10 million people, involving 500 brands, and 3000 businesses in the 60-hour Online Friday 2023 event, the organizers expect this to be a highlight in the overall landscape of the e-commerce sector, as well as the digital economy in Vietnam by the end of 2023. This program is also expected to contribute to promoting e-commerce, bringing more Vietnamese products to consumers through online shopping channels.

Launching the Vietnam E-commerce Week

On November 16, 2023, in Hanoi, the Department of E-commerce and Digital Economy (Ministry of Industry and Trade) organized a press conference to introduce and provide official information about the National E-commerce Week and Vietnam Online Shopping Day - Online Friday 2023 to government agencies, organizations, businesses, consumers, and media units nationwide.

Accordingly, nationwide, the National E-commerce Week will be organized by the Ministry of Industry and Trade from November 27, 2023, to December 3, 2023, and the 60-hour Online Shopping Day - Online Friday 2023 program will begin from midnight on Friday, December 1, 2023, until 12 p.m. on December 3, 2023, on TikTok.

This is the largest national e-commerce event of the year organized by the Ministry of Industry and Trade in coordination with government agencies, provincial/municipal People's Committees, Cong Thuong Newspaper, Deli Stationery, business associations, major e-commerce platforms, and sales support platforms such as TikTok Shop, Shopee, Lazada, Tiki, VNPAY, ZaloPay, Viettel Post, VnPost, and ACCESSTRADE Vietnam.

During the press conference, Lê Hoàng Oanh, Director of the Department of E-commerce and Digital Economy, stated: "Online Friday is a national program of significant scale, providing businesses and consumers with opportunities to effectively promote brands and sell products."

Representatives from UpBase MCN, including Ms. Trịnh Ngọc Minh, attended the press conference along with representatives from other MCNs. UpBase and its affiliated Key Opinion Consumers (KOCs) within the UpBase MCN network will participate in the program through direct sales livestreams. The week promises to be vibrant and attract many familiar KOCs/KOLs to engage with consumers on various online shopping platforms such as Shopee, Lazada, and TikTok Shop.

"The E-commerce Week will bring tangible benefits to consumers when participating in shopping activities, while also fostering strong and sustainable connections within the business community, ranging from manufacturers, distributors to service providers for e-commerce infrastructure," emphasized Ms. Oanh. She further stated that in the future, the program will continue to focus on providing practical support for businesses, aiming to build trust among consumers through genuine promotional activities, serious collaboration programs involving major brands, businesses, large e-commerce platforms, and sales support platforms.

The Online Friday 2023 event - Online Shopping Day

According to the Organizing Committee, the Department of E-commerce and Digital Economy, Ministry of Industry and Trade, over the past 10 years, Online Friday has become a very familiar event for businesses and people nationwide. To express gratitude to businesses and consumers who have supported Online Friday in recent years, the Organizing Committee of the "National E-commerce Week and Vietnam Online Shopping Day - Online Friday 2023" program, in collaboration with reputable entities such as TikTok Shop, Shopee, Lazada, Tiki, VNPAY, ZaloPay, Viettel Post, VnPost, ACCESSTRADE, is focusing on activities aimed at enhancing consumer experience and assisting businesses in manufacturing, distribution, and service sectors to apply e-commerce, increase sales, and achieve sustainable development.

In the coming time, the program will continue to focus on providing practical support for businesses and building consumer trust through genuine promotional programs, as well as serious collaboration programs involving major brands, businesses, large e-commerce platforms, and sales support platforms.

The leadership of the Department of E-commerce and Digital Economy hopes that businesses, including e-commerce platforms, providers of digital transformation solutions, payment infrastructure providers for e-commerce, logistics delivery services, and especially media agencies, will continue to accompany the Vietnam Online Shopping Day - Online Friday 2023 program to contribute to the development of the digital economy in line with the government's direction to leverage technological advantages and seize opportunities arising from the ongoing Fourth Industrial Revolution globally.

As part of the event, the Shopee e-commerce platform has established the "10 Years of Vietnamese Products" section with many discounts of up to 50% and a series of free shipping offers to accompany the Online Friday 2023 program. Additionally, Shopee will also offer thousands of discount vouchers worth over 300 million VND in total for users who shop at Shopee Mall stores operated by Vietnamese businesses. This is seen as a "Voucher Festival" to support consumers in shopping to boost sales for businesses.

Enhance livestreaming and promote Vietnamese products with Vietnamese Key Opinion Consumers (KOCs)

The livestream sessions within the event framework will be divided into two types of events:

  • One type is online livestream events featuring numerous discounts, vouchers with the program's logo, and the e-commerce week will be featured during the livestream sessions of the Key Opinion Consumers (KOCs).
  • The second type is offline livestream events at prominent locations such as Hoan Kiem Lake, pedestrian streets, etc., with the participation of many Key Opinion Consumers/Key Opinion Leaders (KOCs/KOLs), which will surely bring much anticipation.

In addition, there will be launch events and support activities for the e-commerce week in various provinces and cities, promising to be an explosive series of events for Vietnam's e-commerce scene towards the end of the year.
